Diagoras Airport: Your Gateway to Rhodes
For almost everyone arriving on the island, the journey begins at Rhodes Diagoras International Airport. It’s the main point of entry, sitting on the north-west coast a short transfer from Rhodes Town and within easy reach of every major resort — so knowing how it’s laid out makes those first and last moments of your trip far smoother.
How the terminal works
The airport is essentially two separate buildings linked by a corridor in the middle. Departures are handled across two levels: check-in and baggage drop on the ground floor, then passenger screening, gates and shops upstairs on the first floor. Arrivals, on the other hand, are served only in the southern corner of the ground floor, where passport control, customs and baggage reclaim are located. One thing worth knowing in advance — there are no air bridges, so boarding and disembarking are done by bus out on the apron.

Services on site
Everything you’d expect from a busy island airport is here: a police station, a medical clinic, airline and handling-agent offices, car-hire and tour-operator kiosks, and VIP lounges. The recently refurbished duty-free shops, along with cafés and restaurants, give you somewhere comfortable to wait — whether you’ve just landed or you’re killing time before a flight home.
